From the Principal

Remember, all funds raised will go to supporting the new K-8 STEM curriculum! Contest winners will be announced Friday, October 8th!
Inclement Weather
In the case of inclement weather, morning meeting may be conducted in AM classrooms. However, parents should not accompany their students to class rather, they should say goodbye in the school foyer. If it is too cold, windy or wet to have lunch outside, lunch will be eaten in the classroom. Students will be engaging in outdoor recess whenever possible so please make sure that they are dressed appropriately!
Fall Conferences
Student-led Conferences are scheduled for Monday, October 8th and Tuesday, October 9th. In the student-led conference format, students and teachers prepare together, and then students lead the conference while teachers facilitate. During the conference, the triad then sits together to review and discuss sample student work and academic progress.
Teachers are creating sign-up geniuses with time slots that best meet the needs of their families. However, if you are unable to attend fall conferences, students will have access to their conference materials after fall break to discuss with parents at home.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are planning on being out of town October 8th – 9th, you will NOT have the opportunity to reschedule your conference. Please email your student’s teacher with questions or concerns to be addressed during the regular school day.
New Rotation Schedule for Specials/Electives
Beginning October 15th, Specials Teachers will be piloting a new rotation schedule. Students will attend the same special for two weeks and then rotate to the next special for two weeks and so on. Rotating specials every two weeks will provide continuity and a richer, deeper learning opportunity for all students. Over each six week block, students will experience all of the specials classes.
Lost and Found
Please check lost and found for any missing items!! Lost and found will be out in front of the building before and after school beginning Monday, October 1st through October 9thFollowing Fall Break, any remaining items will be donated to charity!
I hope you all find time in the coming weeks to celebrate Fall in Colorado!
