Social Emotional

Here are some resources to help with your child's social emotional development and success in school:
1) This is a fantastic child friendly video that explains why we lose control of our emotions and what we can do about it.

2) Dragon Pledge

I will honor different ways of being, acting and believing, even when I don't agree with them.

I will do my best to solve problems peacefully.

I will speak up if I see others being treated unfairly.

We are Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn.

 3) 4 Steps (Problem Solving)

Two students have a disagreement.  They pair up and say the following:

Student 1: (Name of Student 2), I did not like it when you: (offending behavior), it made me feel (sad, mad, hurt...).  Please STOP!

Student 2: Says OK, stops and apologizes.  If student 2 also has a problem with student 1 then it is their turn to speak and follow the steps.
