About Me

Hello,

My name is Elizabeth Pugh (Ms.Liz) and I am the K-3rd Grade School Counselor.

All students will be involved in the classroom lessons using the Second Step Curriculum. Second Step is an evidenced-based social-emotional program. These lessons will focus on empathy and emotional management.  Its purpose is to increase school success and decrease problem behaviors by promoting social-emotional competence and self-regulation.

For additional counseling services, students can be referred to me through the principal, assistant principal, teacher, self, or parent for individual and/or group sessions.

Students may also meet with the school counselor if a social/emotional issue arises during the day. A carbon copy slip will be sent home if your child comes to my office.

The nature of school counseling does not permit me to perform long-term counseling services or provide a mental health diagnosis. School counselors are skills based to help students be successful at school.

If you feel your child or family is in need of additional help, I will gladly provide information about available resources in the community.
