About Us

I am a native of Colorado. I was born in Grand Junction and spent most of my childhood in Grand Junction and Littleton. After I graduated from high school, I worked as an assistant manager of a bookstore. When I turned 21 I moved to Germany for 18 months. I loved every minute of the time I spent in Germany. Upon returning to the US, I earned degrees in interpreting for the deaf, German and European studies. I have spent about 22 years of my life working with and studying the German language. I taught elementary school in Mississippi for 2 years. I learned a lot my from 4th and 1st grade students while teaching in that school. After 2 years I decided I needed a change of scenery. I moved to Washington, D.C. where I taught 1st grade science and social studies. I returned to Colorado a couple of years ago to be closer to family. I feel very fortunate to be able to teach in a school that so closely aligns with my own philosophy of education. I love learning new languages and am really enjoying watching my students, new and old, as they learn and grow in their new languages. I am looking forward to seeing their continued growth in school this year.

Sabine Paez
Welcome German Village parents and kindergarteners!!
My name is Sabine Paez and I am excited to be working with Mrs. Brennan in this year’s German Kindergarten class!!! This is my 2nd year at GVA and I absolutely love working here. I personally believe that foreign languages and cultural awareness are the key to success for our children. I am from Bamberg, Germany where I studied foreign languages and translation. I spent several years travelling and exploring the world before beginning a new adventure: motherhood. I now have two sons, aged 8 and 3, who are my pride and joy. I have been married for 10 years to my wonderful husband who is currently still serving in the US Army.
I’m looking forward to exposing your children to the German language and culture! We will have a wonderful year together!
