Past winners recommend using atlases, globes and maps to make flash cards to study daily. They also suggest learning about current events. The bee can use current events to questions students with during the bee. in 1999 at the national level contestants were asked questions about exotic animals. If students have studied maps and atlases, they should be able to handle questions given to them.
