This is my fifth year here at GVA - Parker and I am just as excited as the very first day!  I am looking forward to another very successful year full of wonderful learning experiences for both; the children and myself. I am sure that my vast teaching experience as well as my expertise in language immersion will be very positive for our school.

My name is Yolanda Perez, but I like to be called Miss Yoly. I was born in Lima Peru. I did all my school (Elementary and High School) in Peru. I attended D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York where I obtained a Bachelors Degree in Spanish and Education, and I have received my Pre-school Director Certificate from the Community College of Aurora in Colorado.

I am happily married to Romulo Patino for 45years. We have three children, and four beautiful grandchildren that keep us happy, young, and very busy. Fortunately, we all live here in Denver Colorado.

I have over 20 years of experience working with children. I have taught English in Lima, and I have been teaching Spanish in International full immersion Language Schools in Denver for the last nineteen years.

I strongly believe that I should work with children because above all I love children. I am the type of person who enjoys rewarding, varied, interesting, challenging and demanding work while supporting these little minds to explore, experience and develop an understanding of the world around them.

I also feel that my job makes a real difference to their lives. It gives them the foundation for all-round development and prepares them for adulthood. I really care about them and their future and I love to laugh with them. I am capable of encouraging and supporting them through my enthusiasm, patience, friendly manners and my ability to communicate. For me working with children is the most rewarding and nourishing experience. You learn as much from them as they do from you.

I am convinced that because children learn through play, LEARNING MUST ALWAYS BE FUN, keeping them engaged and eager to keep exploring and investigating.

Because I believe that parents are the first and most important teachers that a child has, I am always available to meet with you in order to keep a healthy learning environment for the children. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any concerns or just to share your child’s interests.
