About Me
My name is Ashley Erickson and I am pleased to be the Physical Education teacher here at Global Village Academy DC. This is my fourth year at GVA and I am so incredibly excited for what the 2018-2019 school year will bring.  I am also proud to announce the launch of our Middle School Athletics program beginning this year.  I am more than pleased to take on the Athletic Director position to organize and introduce competitive sports to our young athletes.  It's going to be an amazing year!

I was born and raised in the beautiful town of Durango, CO where I spent most of my time outdoors and playing sports. I attended college at Colorado State University Pueblo where I played four years of collegiate tennis and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science in 2008.  I have been a Personal Trainer, Boot Camp Instructor, and sports Coach for 7 years and then decide to pursue a Master's degree in Education. I graduated with a Master's in Education with a content area in Physical Education in 2014.

Last year really hit home that teaching is my dream and passion in life.  I believe that it is important to teach from the heart in order to be a successful teacher.  There is no better feeling than making a difference in a students life which is why I am here today.

My objective here at GVA is to inspire, motivate, and teach the benefits of not only sports and physical education, but emotional and social well being. My students will leave my class feeling confident and enthusiastic about learning.  I will do my best to keep my students moving and enjoying their time spent in Physical Education.  I am also here to promote an AVID learning environment for my students, giving them the opportunity to climb towards success.
