About Me

I think I am one of the few native Coloradoans left in the state. I was born in Canon City, and moved here when I was two. I love the crystal blue Colorado skies and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.  Part of my family is here and we love to get together.

I came to elementary teaching after twenty five years of producing, directing, shooting and editing videos. Several of those years were spent producing videos for the Olympic swim team. I traveled all over the USA with the team doing interviews and shooting videos. I also owned my own video production company and produced three employee training videos for Walt Disney World in Florida.

I decided to change careers and return to teaching, so I could make a difference in children’s lives. Previously, I taught computer animation at Metropolitan State University of Denver. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Technical Journalism from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. In 2014, I earned my teaching credentials through the UCCS/Pikes Peak BOCES Alternative Licensure Program.

Outside of class I dabble in foreign languages including Russian. I hope to someday visit Moscow and Saint Petersburg. When I’m not lesson planning or grading papers you will find me reading or making electronic photo books for friends and family.
