Dr. Li-Wen Chang Hammer (張皪文) ,
I was born in Taiwan and received my B.S degree in Child and Youth Welfare, and specialized in Early Childhood Education from Chinese Culture University in Taiwan. I worked two years as a lead teacher at Child Development Center in Taipei. Soon after, I came to the University of Iowa for my Master’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education in 1987 while working as a teaching assistant for two years in Iowa City. In 1994, I received my Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from Kansas State University. While working on my Ph.D., I also studied at Manhattan Christian College to be equipped as a minister.
Succeeding my college years, I came to Colorado Springs where I married Bill Hammer. Alongside my husband, and two beautiful children, Zach and Josh, I have lived for more than 20 years in the beautiful city of Colorado Springs.
Preceding my work at Global Village Academy in 2013, I have worked as a research analyst for 12 years at a local consulting firm in the industrial psychology field. I am currently involved in many volunteer works serving international students and Chinese community in the United States. Teaching has always been my passion and I truly enjoy working with children.
