Dear 4th grade parents and students,

I love teaching 4th grade. It is such an interesting year for growth!  Some big things that are learned in 4th grade include long division, prime numbers, factors, and how to make fractions equivelant.  By this age, students should really start reading chapter books that are longer and longer on their own, and discussions about stories, characters and interesting new facts should start to be the norm.  Also, writing grows at an amazing rate in 4th grade. Students should become proficient at writing several paragraphs, stating their opinion, and sticking to a point in a paragraph.  Fourth grade is also the year to learn your state's history. I love Colorado History, and hopefully so will your student by the end of the year!

It will be great to see how much is learned in 4th grade.

Sincerely,
