I have been working with Mrs. Crouch this week to help her learn some of the things that I did as a Kindergarten teacher to focus on each reading skill that is needed to become a fluent reader. Rather than just explaining everything to her, I came in and taught the reading lessons for four days.
Knowing that what you do at home can make such a difference, I wanted to give you the opportunity to come in to see the same reading lessons in action. During these lessons, you will be given the opportunity to both see a lesson, and then discuss what you can do to teach/support these skills at home.
- The lessons will all be on Thursday, March 9th at three separate times, 8:10, 11:30 and 3:20.
- There will be limited spacing for the lessons at 8:10 and 11:30, but I can take anyone that shows up at 3:20 (we will do the lesson in a larger room at this time).
- You will be given some reading activities that you can do with your child, and will hopefully go away with a better understanding of the skills that are necessary to help your child become a fluent reader.
