On behalf of Muanjadi Organization, we would like to thank Global Village Academy of Aurora (GVA-A) students and PTO Aurora for raising enough money (last year) to send 35 young African girls from the Democratic Republic of Congo (D.R.C.) girls to school this year (2016-2017). Without your contribution, they would not have the opportunity to pursue their education.
Muanjadi Organization is a 501 ( c) (3), Non Profit Organization that helps keep young girls to school in the D.R.C. where the public education system is bankrupt and falls under the responsibility of individual parents. Most parents live off of $1.94 a day(GDP per capita is $700 est.) and can't afford to send their children to school. When and if they do, most choose their boys over their girls to send to school. The girls are simply married off or stay home to the daily chores.
Once again, thank you to our wonderful students who have helped with their loose changes to make a difference. Thank you to our wonderful parents who have motivated their children to be kind and generous to the less fortunate with Jeans for Dreams. Thank you to the GVA-A staff for helping and facilitating the fund raising. Last, but not least, thank you to Mrs. Courtney Black for believing on this cause and making this dream a reality.
Below are pictures of the students GVA-A has been sponsoring for the past 3 years.
You will see on the pictures:
- 3 Elementary means 3 grade
- 1 Co means 7th grade
- 6 HP means 12th grade( Major:education
Please, let me know if you have any questions. Thank you so much!
Mrs. Sandra Bea
