From the Principal

As you know, I won't be coming back to GVA next year so this is my last newsletter note. When I think back over the course of the past six years, it's amazing to think about all that we have accomplished (we meaning the entire GVA Community). Six years ago, I was hired to work with Principal Fuller to start GVA, neither of us had ever been a principal, worked at a charter, or worked at an Immersion School. It wasn't an easy time, but we did a few things right including hiring some amazing people and attracting some amazing families. GVA offers something very unique to the Colorado Springs Community and it has been my pleasure to help grow this program. I will miss each of you, but will hold you close to my heart for many years to come.

As many of you know, the school put together a program to say goodbye to me and Mrs. Raabe last Friday. The entire school came together to show a power point of memories and to sing a touching song called Time of Our Lives (click to download powerpoint). What a touching program this was! I truly appreciate the time and energy that were put into this program! As I told the students on Friday (very emotionally), I would like all of the parents to follow me on Facebook on May 25th. I don't follow staff or families when I'm at a school, but now that I'm leaving. I'd love to have a way to keep in touch. I want to watch your children grow up to become amazing people!

Goodbye for now, I'll be looking for your friend request!
