Global Village Academy Douglas County is proud to announce that our school has been named a 2026 National Gold Star School® by the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), a prestigious national recognition honoring schools that demonstrate excellence in leadership, innovation, and student success.
More than 220 schools across the country applied, with only 57 schools selected nationwide. GVA-DC was the only school in Colorado to receive this distinction this year.
The National Gold Star School® program recognizes schools that exemplify NAESP’s Three Pillars of the Principalship:
- Established Culture through shared values, family engagement, and student well-being
- Empowered People through collaborative teaching, leadership, and holistic support
- Optimal Systems through strategic planning, effective resource use, and continuous improvement
“This recognition reflects the incredible dedication of our staff, students, and families,” said Principal Stacy Bush. “At GVA-DC, we are committed to creating a school culture where every student feels supported, challenged, and inspired to grow. We are honored to be recognized on a national level for the work happening in our classrooms and throughout our community.”
This achievement highlights the strength of the GVA-DC community and its ongoing commitment to academic excellence, language immersion education, student well-being, and meaningful family partnerships. The award also recognizes the collaborative efforts of educators, support staff, parents, and community members who work together each day to help students thrive.
Thank you for being an essential part of our school community. This achievement belongs to all of us.
