Strategic Planning Meeting
GVA-Douglas County is a learning community with incredible parent support.  In our three years, we have gained tremendous insight and want to transfer this learning to our Strategic Planning Process.
If you have a vested interest in the path of GVA-Douglas County over the next five years, join us for our Strategic Planning Process.  The first meeting is on Monday, September 25th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the library. 
Spirit Night at Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers
  • Join other GVA families on Tuesday, September 26 from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm. Please mention GVA while ordering.
Prospective Parent Information Meeting
  • Do you know of any families interested in learning about our innovative language immersion program? Invite them to the Prospective Parent Information Meeting on Wednesday, September 27th at 6:00 pm!
Douglas County Charter Public Schools Alliance
The Douglas County Charter Public Schools Alliance is hosting an event to bring together charter leaders from all operating charter schools within Douglas County.  The Charter Leader Forum will be held Thursday, September 28th at American Academy Lincoln Meadows campus at 10260 Twenty Mile Road in Parker.  The event will begin at 6:00 pm.  Douglas County Interim Superintendent Erin Kane will be joining us as our Keynote Speaker. Parents, staff, heads of school/principals, PTO, SAC and Board members are all welcome to attend to learn more and network with other fellow charter leaders within Douglas County.  
In addition, Douglas County School District Board of Education debate scheduled for October 19th.  This event will be hosted at Ben Franklin Academy at 6 pm.  All 8 candidates have been invited and questions will focus around those important to the charter community. So please mark your calendars for this event.  An invite is attached.  
International Days
Global Village Academy-Douglas County holds International Day celebrations once a month. 

The purpose of International Days is to engage and excite students in learning the history and cultural aspects of the chosen country. On International Days, selected classes perform songs, dances and short skits for all students.  In addition, students experience a taste of the country by sampling regional foods.  On International Days students have "free dress" and are encouraged to dress in cultural clothing.  International Days are early release days- students are released at 12:00 pm.  Lunch is not served.

  • November/December- Uruguay
  • January 26- China
  • February 23- Afghanistan
  • March 30- France
  • April 27- Cuba
