From the Principal

While snack time and recess were high on their lists, what students mentioned most were their teachers ("I love Ms. __) and that school is fun ("We are always doing fun stuff!)
I love that our kids (and adults) have fun at school (and at work) and that every day we ALL have the opportunity to experience JOY!!!
Thank You
  • A huge Thank You goes out Chris Meyer and Christopher Young for the awesome Read Across America week!  And Thank You to the teachers and staff for participating in all of the fun activities!
Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award
Congratulations to Global Village Academy Douglas County for receiving the Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award.
  • This award is given to schools that demonstrate exceptional student growth on the state's school performance framework.
  • This is the framework that is used by the state to evaluate schools, these schools "exceed" expectations on the indicator related to longitudinal academic growth and "meet or exceed" expectations on the indicator related to academic growth gaps.
  • GVA is one of 9 Douglas County schools to receive this prestigious award.
Growing Together Campaign
Our school is embarking on a capital campaign known as "Growing Together". This initiative embodies the forward-thinking spirit and community culture that makes GVA-DC a unique and desirable alternative to other schools. "Growing Together" will:
  • Raise vital funds to help support the launch of the middle school for the 2018-2019 academic year;
  • Cover any gaps to ensure a smooth, sustainable and fiscally responsible expansion; and
  • Increase our presence in the Parker community.
