Inspired by the coming Lunar New Year of the Pig, my wonderful kids thought up a great idea. All four fabulous first grade classes created scenery and paper puppets for the story The Three Little Pigs. They had a great time playing with their creations and telling and retelling the story. After class, they headed off to French, Mandarin, and Spanish classes to try it out in their target language (Thanks teachers!). It's always fun to double or triple-dip standards. This happens naturally in art. Ask your artist about the big ideas. I love to combine art with math, science, language arts and writing, history, civics, and of course geography.
