This month students were inspired by Cameroon! Cameroon is known as little Africa because all the biomes found throughout the continent are found there. Sixth grade studied and painted the natural beauty large scale in collaborative groups. Other students researched the wild animals and the artwork found on postage stamps. This inspired us to depict them in various mediums. We also researched and studied the beautiful textiles and fabrics and tried our hand at circle weaving and watercolor resist batik. Thank you to Mr. Nkamla for all the guidance, support and willingness to teach me about his beloved country. Thank you Mrs. Nkamla and the Cameroonian community for all you did to make International Day so special! We all love and appreciate your Cameroon. In the GVA Art Studio we create world peace one piece at a time.
