GVA-DC is proud to live out the values of compassion, service, and global citizenship through a partnership with A New Dimension of Hope. Through the Jeans for Dreams fundraiser, they are working to raise $3,000 to support education and opportunity for more than 1,000 students at our sister school in Liberia, proving that together, our GVA-DC community can truly make a global impact.

The Colorado Avalanche Most Valuable Teacher Program celebrates outstanding Colorado teachers and administrators who lead with excellence and inspire students. Nominate an exceptional educator today and help them receive the recognition they deserve!

K-12 students are invited to design and build a paper-and-tape ball run that keeps a ball moving for as long as possible. Submissions are due by March 31st.

The Douglas County Youth Initiative’s Outstanding Youth Awards honor teens ages 13–19 who have overcome challenges and inspired others through resilience, growth, and leadership. Nominations for the 2026 awards are now open and due by April 3rd.

Amber Sheeran, a music teacher at GVA Aurora, was commissioned to compose Of Love and Delight, a tribute honoring the legacy of Jean Newman and her lifelong support of women leaders in music. The piece will be performed by musicians from across the country at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, celebrating both Sheeran’s artistry and the passion for music she brings to her students every day.
